Ok I'm new to the 4 stroke Yamaha exhaust.
Could some of you guys post pics of what you have done to insure you can safely haul something on the rear tunnel. With out melting it or anything.
It really doesn't matter the sled, I just want to see some things that work so we can fab our own.

I just had a chrome turnout put on the exhausts and no problems so far.

A rack? I thought you said on another website you got the sled through a race sponsership and your coss country racing it?

Yes this is true. But one race (our main focus next year) will be the IronDog. http://www.irongdog.org
It is a 2000 mile cross-country race across Alaska. Each team is 2 racers each on their own sled. There is about 15-20 pounds of required safety gear to carry and at this point we really need to make sure our 2008 Nytros can travel over 135 miles on a tank of fuel! (under ANY conditions) We are speculating we will have to carry about 1.5 gallons of fuel extra to be on the safe side for this one leg. (120 miles) This is a very remote section of the race and there literally is NO fuel for 120 miles. Teams in the past have run out of fuel in this section when there was snowy conditions. Looking closely at the Nytro there doesn't seem there are the 'normal' places to stash/store/secure things. One thing that most don't realize about this race is EVERYTHING is done on the clock so waisting 2 or 3 mins to remove/secure your overnight bag and personal gear could make a difference in the out come of the race. Some teams will take less then 2 minutes to fuel 2 sleds and each grab a drink and maybe a energy snack and be off for another 100 miles or so. Even though its a long race, every minute adds up! We are NOT looking to stick the whole 20lbs (or so) on the back of the tunnel but check out the rules and imagine the volume the required gear takes up. We need some more cubic inches of storage then what appears to be readily avalible. Again the pictures are mainly to see how close to the exhaust we can put things and what others have done.
