I am looking for some pictures, input and ideas to design and build a cargo rack for my 03 rx1 and my wifes 06 attack. I have my own tubing bender and 3/4" square tube dies, as well as a cad tube bending program, so thats not an issue. If I/you can dream it I can build it. The rack would only have to be big enough to take small packs to the ice shack. I was wondering if any of you have any ideas or have built one that works good and is not to bulky. I want it to be useable but not take away from the sleek look of the sleds, if that is possible. I am thinking that it will have to be made to sit above the exhaust unless I get some exhaust tips to devert the exhaust out to the side of the sled. Both sleds have 136" tracks so there is around a foot of tunnel behind the seat for a rack if the exhaust tips would work. Any help would be appreiciated.

this is a few pics of the yamaha rack for the rx sleds. it is off of my brothers 04 war and we removed it for the apex seat mod.

Now that is sweet! Why don't they have that for vector? After all vector is a touring / cross country sled! That rack would be perfect to attach saddlebags! I want one! Maybe I'll talk to my buddy who welds aluminum about a custom one like that. What a great idea!

I've got one of these racks that will fit a vector. Send me a PM if interested. It mounts a little different than the one pictured. I removed it from a shorty rx-1. Rx-1 and vector are same tunnel.

I got one of these racks brand new if you want to start with that as a base. It doens't have the rear supports as that is a seperate part number but with a alittle creativitiy on mounting it would save you a ton of time. I was going to make a hinge for it so it would rotate up towards the handlebars so I could access the trunk on my apex. Storage needs changes so I dont need it anymore.

$60 plus shipping

Kinger, I will keep that in mind and once actualy figure out what I want for a design, I may give you a shout.
