I just got my new to me 2010 Vector GT into my shop for a good look.
Started to set up my suspension when I noticed the rear shock dampener remote adjuster is not working.
It looks like the cable that runs to the shock has snapped.
Is this common?

Yes this is common. Barn of Parts has made up a key type adjuster to fit onto the shock which will always work.

Mine broke last year. I thought I had blown the shock. So I took it to a dealer hoping the blown shock would be covered by the YES warranty. It turns out it was the cable and the dealer said it happens all the time. Wish I knew about the BOP fix, thanks for the heads up Handy.

Thanks for the info guys.
I will get it set for now.
Look at a new one if I sell down the road.

I just ground the end of an old key off square so it will fit the cable slot. Not as easy if it is cold and frozen but will let me adjust when needed. I pulled out the old cable, cut the tube off, filled the end with silicone and replaced to keep any crap out of the slots at both ends.Yes this is common. do you have a picture of the key you made? I have the same problem.I just ground the end of an old key off square so it will fit the cable slot. If your gonna eliminate using cable just flip shock 180 so adjustment is facing down, much easier to adjust on ground.

Sorry I am away working and don't have a pic. Pretty simple, just grind off an old key so it fits the square slot.do you have a picture of the key you made? I have the same problem.

I noticed my cable was broken recently and removed it completely and covered the open hole in the tunnel.I ended up turning the shock 180 degrees so that the rebound adjustment screw faces downward for easy access.
I now carry a stubby #1 Robertson screwdriver and use it to adjust rebound as needed. The screwdriver fits perfect.

My 3rd replacement cable broke, will not replace with another new cable system. I'll probably buy the BOP adjuster next fall.

Has anyone had any luck with the new superseded part number for the remote adjuster? I just want to know if it’s worth spending over $100 on this new part number. Does it hold up any better? If it’s not any better then I’ll go with the Barn Of Parts fix.

Don't bother. As others have said, #1 Robertson stubby works perfectly. I set mine at 12 clicks and never looked back.
