I assume you are apex ltx gt ? my shocks are with frank as well
which spring did you go with 6.5 6.6 70 or 7.1?
riding style?
weight?
he recommeded a 6.8 for me but said it was un availible that puts me right in the middle?
I am 240 ride very fast and hard no luggage
Does the 7.1 sound to stiff anyone can chime in with experience
Thanks

Sorry big red... my shocks i sent were off my 07RTX.. for now i'm leaving my GTLTX alone... shock is fine and i'm just about 200lbs fully dressed with helmet. so i've been able to dial it in pretty good for my weight... I drive hard... too hard for alot of people... been told i'm alittle nutty,,,, i ask.... "define Nutty"??

But when i was tlaking to frank, i was asking him about my ohlins and he was suggesting that i leave stock spring and do a revalve. so i think i may do that.... not sure when yet...

This is what he did with Ohlins for my RTX. Revalve, then if I think I need the spring, then he'll do it.

If you have got any of the GT models, these are some useful Ohlins part numbers:

696-08 48 N/mm (4.9 kg/mm) 2006-2007 Apex GT US+Can
696-10 52 N/mm (5.3 kg/mm)
696-11 54 N/mm (5.5 kg/mm) 2008-2010 Apex GT US+Can
696-14 60 N/mm (6.1 kg/mm) 2007-2010 Attak GT / Apex LTX GT US+Can
696-16 64 N/mm (6.5 kg/mm)
696-19 70 N/mm (7.1 kg/mm) 2006-2010 RX-1 GT Europe
696-21 75 N/mm (7.6 kg/mm) 2007-2010 RX Warrior GT Europe
696-24 80 N/mm (8.1 kg/mm)

Personally, I can not get my head around why some people on this forum can get away with 48-54 N/mm springs and still claim that they have got good bump absorption as well as good bottoming resistance...???

thanks alatalo.... very good info!!!

i agree with you.... i'm not a big guy, and i could not even think of going lower than a 60N/mm spring.. as it is... i will bottom out... i'm 170lbs no gear....

170lb with gear>>>+ 63lbs +/- fuel/full tank = 233lbs,even though 63+/- is in center of machine, have always tuned suspentions with wet weight.crashing through chop rarely happens with 6.5 installed, and thats flyin down the trail, always works for me! ;)!

It is a busy time at Pionner. My shock just shipped out today and I sent it in over 2 weeks ago.

I understand it's the busy season, and I specifically asked what the turn around time was because my sled and trailer we going to be sitting at the dealer. He told me 3-4 days, that's my concern.

I'm sure it'll be worth it, but just tell me so I'm not inconviencing the dealer by having my trailer/sled sitting there.

What is stock spring on '09 LTX GT?

Resurrecting an old thread - does anyone know the stock spring in the '09 Apex LTX GT?
I am going to put in a new spring and trying to decide which one, and what I have now. (Very soft)

The rear spring on your Ohlins GT LTX should be a 6.1.
A 4.9 came standard on the 121 GT, and a 6.1 came standard on the 136 GT.

Part number on 6.8 spring

Does anyone know the Ohlins part number for the 6.8 Kg/MM spring?
I want to give it to the dealer when I call them. Thanks.
