Had the nytro xtx over to the neighbors this afternoon and went for a small little tour when I got back home again. Went to go over a snow bank and spun out. Couldn't back up either. Thought it was odd but finally got out of it. Had no traction though. Went to put it back in the shop and noticed the front of the skid was sitting up in the tunnell.

Was to much ice and not enough room to see in there to try and figure out what happened. Just thought I'd see if anyone else has had a similar experience and what went wrong. It seems like the shock may be froze or something is seriously binding in there somewhere. It doesn't want to come back down anyways. Rear shock and reservoir appear to be ok.

Was just thinking I might have a good run to the end of the season without any problems. Guess I was wrong.lol..

I put the heat on in the shop this morning and put it up on the hoist to have a look. Everything appeared to be okay. I went through and greased everything up and right now it all seems to be okay. As long as the shock itself doesn't freeze up when I take it outside all should be well. I'll take it out tomorrow and leave it out for a while and see what happens.

I got thinking last night after I posted wondering about the possibility of the controll rods freezeing up and sticking. That almost seems like what it was as I don't think the front shock was fully compressed when it stuck up in the tunnel.

Hopefully with a bit of luck all will be well after the test tomorrow.

Road it around for about 10 miles yesterday just putting around playing in drifts and driving accross our fields. So far so good. Left it outside all day and all seems well again.

Discovered something wrong in the front end though. Upper a arm bolt on the spindle came loose. Wasn't loose long but enough that it egged the hole out in the spindle. Had loctite on it too.

my upper spindle bolt on the right hand side keeps coming loose too....I've tried a new bolt and nut- using red loctite, but still comes loose, but the left side stays tight....its really weird.

Same thing happened to my nytro two years ago, egged out the spindle on the right side. Got the thing welded back up and no problems since. I thought this was just a freak thing that just happened to my sled, now you guys say it happened to your sleds...... Kinda weird??

spindle thing has happened to a lot of guys, including me 3 times. I filled the upper hole in the spindle with jb weld and tightened down the bolt. makes a solid upper joint/spindle but id rather buy a new spindle + ball joint than die when it comes apart at 80 mph...... :o|

Have read about it before. First time I've had anything come loose on the nytro though. I had it all appart in Jan. and suspect one of the nuts that I reused didn't work like it should. Going to pick up a few nylock nuts just to have on hand just in case.

Mine was on the left side. Got some permanant loctite on mine for now. Will keep a eye on it though as it was cold out and I'm not 100% sure what the cure time is for 262. It's in the shop now again but I put it back on outside.
