I definitely need a stiffer suspension in my RX Warrior to ride two up. What are my best options? The rear shock doesn't look like its rebuildable and with 9k miles it may be weak anyways. I have a complete 121" Viper rear skid with rebuildable rear shocks that maybe I could get revalved for the Warrior, but do they fit the 136" skid ? Also I'm not sure how stiff of a spring I can get for those shocks. I thought that Venture springs would be perfect, but I can't seem to find any and from looking at the parts diagram it looks like I'd have to get a whole rear shock. Maybe that's my best bet I'm sure sure what will interchange between the different pro action skids. Thanx for any help.

Those shocks should be serviceable. I would recommend pioneers Olin's rear as that is almost as heavy a spring as the big boy yamaha spring. My 05 war finally needs the Olin's serviced and they have been on there 6 seasons and the trails around here can get rough let me tell you.

I don't see a ohlins listed for a Warrior, maybe there's another page I'm missing, I'll check again. If I could get these shocks serviced I would probably go that way as I'm on a bit of a budget. The best thing to do is give Pioneer a call I guess and see what they tell they have and what they can do. Luckily when we went out yesterday the trails were well groomed because it didn't take much of a bump to bottom it out at a slow speed. I had to travel slowly since I've been fighting a darting problem since I've had it. I've backed the front spring preload off quite a bit, I think I'm going to shim the skis. That helped my Viper with darting. I have a seat jack which does put my wife far back on the sled which really makes it squat down. Thank you for the advice.

Pioneer Performance offers new rebuidable rear shock with heavy duty spring as an upgrade package for the Warrior. Worked well for me when I had my warrior.

That does sound like a nice shock, but I just don't know if my budget will allow for that this year. It depends on how much maintenance this sled needs. I'll find out when I tear into it this spring. I think we have 1 or 2 more weeks of riding so I'm going to ride it all I can till the season is over. That would be a nice upgrade down the rode though. Thanx .

Well I called Pioneer tonight and I think I figured out what I'm going to do. They told me that the Warrior rear shock isn't rebuildable. They told me that my Viper shock would fit and if I got it revalved with heavier springs it would be almost the same shock as their heavy duty shock. They said they can't guaranty how well it would work for riding 2 up, but it should be a significant improvement over what I have. So when the snow is gone I think I'll send in my Viper rear shock and the Warrior center shock and get them revalved and resprung.

Darting is a problem with all those Yamaha single keel skis as well. Aggressive SnowTrackers carbides will solve that problem as well. Better start saving up now.

make shure you measue them before you send them out. the warrior one is longer than the viper one. i did have a picture posted of this....... but i cannot find it atm.

I have a set of rear shocks for sale if interested. They were rebuilt and have not been used. Zero miles for the price of used shocks. Had them installed on a Rage but took them off as we sold the sled. Will fit the Warrior.

I might be interested. Are they aluminum shocks and how much would you want for them ? You can PM me if you want.

Well I have an update for what I decided to do. I ended up trading my suspension and some old snowmobile parts I had laying around for a different skid. I got a new skid, a cover, Woody's Dooleys carbides, and different skis for my fathers sled for $125. I got a rear skid from a 2000 Ski Doo Grand Touring. We got to sit on it to test how it handled our weight and it seemed perfect. It may squat more with the Seat Jack since the passenger sits further back, but it should be a huge improvement. I just finished doing the swap Thursday night which isn't bad since I started it on Monday. I took my time and I think it turned out well and the skid fit perfectly. It was nice that the dealer had the sled with the skid in it so I got to take down my own measurements. It must be at least 15 lbs lighter. I think it will handle two up riding better and I think it'll still ride nice riding solo. Plus the spring adjustment is much quicker and easier than the pro action skid. I can't wait to try it out now.
