Rebuilding Apex motor after overheating

Well, anything could have happened, but, I wouldn't think it's not repairable. Everything needs to be checked however. Most likley cylinders are alittle out of round. Head and block deck could be warped. Valves and guides could be hurt. The cam bearing cap looked pretty normal from the look of the pictures. Would polish the cam journals anyway. Anything thats oil lubricated is probably OK oil could have taken over the cooling job. You will just have to check all the bores for round and straightness. Rings should be replaced even if they look good. Have cylinders diamond honed and look closely at head combustion chambers for cracks. Pressure testing would be great for crack detection. Good luck! :flag:

My apex cams and cam caps looked about the same as that when I installed my bender turbo on it back in feb/2006. sled only had 90 miles on odo back then. I have never bothered about that. but aI have had all kind of problems making good power with my apex since day number one. maybe because of that... my motor was probably a lemon from day#1....
