How much would it cost to get a set of front fox floats rebuilt? Just curios in case i ever run across a set. And where to get it done at.??

Just about any rebuilding house should be able to perform it. A simple rebuild is easy, revalving is were the skill and history come in to play. If you were to find Floats from an 08' (Nytro) you'd likely want a revolve, but the 09's and up would be decent enough for a trial period to determine what you would want to change. Rebuild kits are 30-40 so I would guess a rebuild for both would be between 65-90$ I do my own so I just get the rebuild kits from Carver and go from there.

I just dropped mine off yesterday to get done. I know the place I get them done only charges slightly more then a regular shock. However if you need the seal kit it pretty much doubles the cost. Last year mine just got an oil change and a recharge but this year they need seals.

I'd much rather have your coilover shocks than a set of regular floats for trail riding. Unless you find a set of Float X shocks with adjustable compression/rebound

Really?? I got buddys who live by fox floats. Idk i was thinkin if i found a set off a older (07) nytro on just re built them that would be better. Its hard to adjust ride height and also keep body roll in check with floats or float 2s. If you get the fancy ones with the extra air chambers it gets better.
They work good for jumping and sucking up big hits, since they resist bottoming very well. But to make them ride smooth you gotta let air out, lowing your ride height and increasing body roll in the process.
I don't like them at all. But the Float X shocks are very nice, I'd run them again.
You might want to check but I dunno if the 07 nytro shocks will fit, thats the older body style nytro.

I am considering getting rid of my Fox Floats from an 08 Nytro in place of the cooil overs but I want to first explore teh idea of revalving them. Are teh shocks decent trail shocks if revalved?

I'd send them to Fox and have them converted to Float X shocks with adjustable compression and rebound. Then they are awesome shocks. Not sure on the cost tho, might cost you a few hundred bucks.
Its just my opinion, but I'd rather have coilovers for trail riding.

Gotta add here that I bet your opinion is in the minority here on this one. What do the pro's all use? Oh ya, Floats. Yes Float X's are great, but other Floats also rock in the corners and don't roll in the corners. If the rest of the sled is set up poorly, maybe, but that's not the fault of the Floats.
I got rid of coilover shocks on both of my sleds for Float 2's. I'd never, ever go back. My Mountain Viper has Float 2's on front and it rocks off trail. And with my Attak I ride some rough, rough trails twisty trails and the Float 2's give no body roll.

lets face it....Fox Floats are horrible trail shocks. If revalving them will make it a better trail shock I'm going to keep them....if it doesn't I will trade for the coil over shock

Floats in general? Original Floats? I disagree that "Floats" are horrible, rather they are very good. I do submit that I have no experience with the original Floats of yesteryear, just Float 2's. Are your particular Floats the older ones perhaps?
