Recommend a 1.5" track for me...

I still haven't found anyone that will do it anymore. You may have to do it yourself, it would be a little project but not to bad. I'll keep looking, sorry I can't be of more help.

i have heard of quite a few guys that run fully puched but clipped only every third tracks with extroverts and no problems so far! id say 1.5" crossover, punch it with wood chisels and run it!

Between a couple of sharp chisels (1", 1.5") and an exacto knife, I'm sure I can pull this off. I am now price hunting for a 9800 or a 9834.

No.

I know some people run it this way and some Cat's come this way from the factory, but not on my sled. That track has to last me.

Me too im looking for a new track on the warrior something good in the trail and in the poweder got to try to hang with my buddies M5 :P

Your buddy's M-5 has a 15"x141"x 1.6" track. If I were you guys with the 136" tracks wanting more performance in the powder; I'd go with the 9797M, 8 tooth drivers and throw some universal ski mounted ice scratchers on made by Hartman Inc.

Jim

The 9797M is a 2" lug track, I'd throw the lugs off that in no time. I need to strike a balance, so 1.5" is the max I can handle without losing that "planted" feeling when running on hardpack.

I am really leaning towards the 9800C.

Tracks USA has the 1.5" 9834 on for 319 USD's what a deal!

The 9800 Intense is listed at $440 USD's, that's a lot more money for a track that I'll have to punch and clip...

http://www.trackpunch.com/

According to the site these guys will punch it for ya for $100, and fully clip it for another $40. Plus you'd probably have to pay 2 way shipping. I have no personal experience with this company. They've advertised in SnowTech in the past.

Here's a 9800 on Ebay for $350. I bought my 136" Intense myself from this same Hudson Forest guy brand new for about $380, so he's very legitimate and gives good service.

He'll pretty much order any Camplast track you want outside Ebay if you contact him, and he seems to beat the crap outta most anyone else's price...

I knew I had seen it listed before, just couldn't find a back issue in time. Thanks for finding it. ;)!

So here's a little math for ya:

$350 for the track, plus $25 to have Hudson Forest to ship it DIRECTLY to Trackpunch, plus $140 for them to punch & clip it "professionally," whatever that means, plus probably another $25 for them to ship it to your door (assumes you're in the US).

Fully clipped, punched, ready to roll 9800 shipped to your door....not exactly priceless: $540.

Now you get to decide if it's worth the cash or if there's better options. Or if you just wanna punch and clip it yourself which really is kind of a pain in the arse, but not impossible.

Whatever you do, don't settle for an inferior track. It's only money...and overpaying for a track by $100 or so is far better than not having the very BEST track for your riding style...good luck!

This man speaks the truth.

I highly doubt that I'll pay $140 + shipping each way to have the track clipped, but next payday, I am going to buy the 9800 as long as I can be sure that I have the tunnel clearance over my front torque arm. I remember it being a little bit tight at that point when I installed the Pro-X rear skid, I have to re-check that clearance tonight.

Forgive me if I'm off base here, as I have not read every post in this thread.

But I gather that you want a fully punched and clipped track because you are going to run intro/extrover drivers.

If that is the case, you can save yourself some money by foregoing the fully clipped portion. I just got done stretching my Nytro to a 136 with intro/extrovert drivers. I'm using a 1.5" ripsaw. The track came fully punched and clipped every 3rd. The guy at Tracks USA told me that it was not necessary to have it fully clipped - even with the extro drivers. Even some of the mountain guys do this to save weight and have still maintained good track life.

I don't know this first hand, but since I'm now running this setup, I will find out how well it works when the snow flies.

Well... I am antsy about running without a full set of clips, but then again, what are the chances that I'll get clips exactly the same as the ones I am running? Mixing in two different types of clips probably wouldn't do me any good either.

I may just try the completely punched, clipped every third option. After all, the lateral reinforcement rods are what you're driving on, not the clips.
