Need make another parts order and was thinking about adding the red relay as part of it. Does the red 8GN-81950-00-00 work on a 2006 Attak and would it replace the 8FP-81950-01-00 relay?

Not sure of the part # but I just put the red relay on my 07 Attak .

I've heard the red relay mentioned several times; is this a replacement for the fuel pump? Is the red relay solid state vs. a standard relay?Need make another parts order and was thinking about adding the red relay as part of it. That is the part number for the updated red relay that fits quite a few different models including 07 Attak and 09 Nytro. Should fit 06.

Yes red body relay is the the solid state relay, no contacts to potentially freeze up. Plug in and go.
Wire color combination you are looking for the fuel relay location is: red/green, red/blue, red/white and blue/red

3 of the four relays located in the left footwell are the same. The new electronic red relay will replace the three of these relays. One relay is the fuel pump that some people seem to have trouble with. The other two are the load relay and the fan relay. The 4th relay that is different is the lights hi\low relay.
I replaced all three relays with the red 8GN-81950. Seeing that they are all the same the other two can freeze or stick like the fuel pump relay does.
The 8GN-81950 will work on the 06-09 and maybe newer.

Thanks everyone! I am going to order a few as spares in a "just in case" scenario.
I *really* want to support my local dealer, but NONE of them carry any inventory for parts. I called 5 different dealers in a 100 mile radius from where I live and not 1 single dealer had the shock & control rod needle bearings and seals in stock. All had to order them and depends what warehouse they shipped from it would be 3-5 business days. Had the same issue last fall trying to get parts. Basic wear parts are no longer being stocked and have to be special ordered. I was willing to pay their list price, too. But if they have to order it, I can easily do the same, pay 30% less and have it shipped to my house. I guess I will just add the red relay to my order.
1 relatively local dealer is already being forced to give up their Yamaha dealership. Yami is requiring them to push 50 sleds a year minimum and they are doing around 30-35 in a good year. Its a small shop but they are nice folks and very helpful. Not sure if they will stay open of just be a powersports repair shop.

Is there a Bosch or other brand cross reference number? The Yamaha dealers I've contacted don't have it and I'm traveling to northern Canada this w/e.3 of the four relays located in the left footwell are the same. I had this problem last week (2010 Vector) -17 deg F . Thankfully we were still at the lodge and found a hair dryer and extension cord. 10 minutes later I was back on the trail.
Next time I won't be so lucky and it'll happen 20 miles from ANYTHING.

Yes, I recently ordered exact same one for my 2006 Attak. Cost was $9.85 before S/H from partzilla.com

Thanks and that's a good option in a pinch, but I would really like to replace them with a solid state relays this week.
