We recieved our Apex and RX1 reduction gear sets last week and I must say they are beautiful and fit as nice as they look. It's amazing the precisoion of these gears, almost too nice to put in an engine.
We now can finally get the clutch speed down where it belongs and belt and clutch efficiency will be much improved. I installed a set in one of our Apex engines this weekend. The lash was perfect and they fit as good or better than the gears we removed. I am really pleased. The best part is you can install them without taking the engine apart. You will have to lift the engine high enough to remove the water pump. I will make up a set of instructions to help with installation.
I have included a couple pictures of stock Apex and RX1 crank gears and counter shaft gears. You can see how nice they are compared to stock gears. I have both RX1 and Apex crank gears and 2 different ratio's 1.41:1 and 1.44:1 Field testing begins soon as the clutch weights can get alot heavier now that we have dropped clutch speed by 1500RPM. 10,000 to 8500: at 12,000 engine RPM

I believe clutch and belt efficiency is reduced dramatically as RPM increases. The higher you spin the engine the worst it gets. Our Pro-Mod engines are spinning well over 12000RPM. A RX1 clutch will spin 10100 at 12000 engine RPM. At 13000 it spins 10900. Thats insane. The belt speed is way too fast. That's hurting effiency as I'm sure you can understand.

Wow thats nice!Hanover Gear?
