Still no new snow to speak of. But there is some good trail riding to be had!
So we met up at Reecer Creek, which is just up the road from my sisters. Lindseys "cowgirl" friend invited us on a ride. A bit unsure I was, but it turned out to be an excellent ride!
We headed out in a super thick fog, but as we climbed out of the Kittitas Valley to reach the sno-park, the sun broke through! This was the parking lot, VERY thin snow but we knew it would improve of course.
We rode for quite some time, tearing up some meadows and even breaking some trail through the trees. Fires also ravaged this area last summer, so the burned branches really turned your jacket and the sled black.
We did finally stop for a lunch break, with the group now having grown to 12. Hot chilli from the thermos, and burritos.
The big fella (I forgot his name!) was pretty concerned about his new'13 polaris Pro's shaft breaking. Cronic problem I guess.
Lindsey and I are good for a nice 5 hour or so ride. By late afternoon she was ready for a break. Well, I was too. This was a good shot of the "boys".
Now nearing 5:00 we were spent. Apparently we arent very hard core riders because this crew still wanted to keep going!! We negotiated a happy medium in that, we would take the longer way back.
This was on the final decent back down to the truck. You can see the fog that blankets the valley floor still. It didnt burn off all day.
An awsome day even with the older snow. These are great folks to ride with!
Manastash Ridge next weekend!
