Those lighted wips are amazing. Saw it on some sled before. I do think it is over kill though if you just wipe the tail light once every now and then your fine. Something every rider of any sled ussually has to do.
What I have done to achieve better visibility is tapped the whole rear grab bar in reflective tape

I've used that same product to outline the perimeter of our dock. Those rolls of LEDs can be used for any application! They'll hold up too if protected adequately.

The last time I saw lights like that was back in my heavy drinking days. The top of the pole was flashing and it sure did stand out, even when you're a little blurry eyed but they can also be a bit annoying when you're blowing into a straw.

Yep I bet those whips can be seen, but I go off trail once and awhile and I could see a tree grabbing one or if I roll the sled it's gone

i drilled out the rivits on the rear reflectore and put my tail light there like others mentioned. icing is all gone and can easily see but its angled up which isnt optimal. Im making triangle shaped spacers to put behind it so it tilts back flat. No snow here either so gotta putts with something until we got more than 6" to stick for more than a week.
