Regeared RTX LE trip update from Weasel33

We never got the mph TD wanted. Chalked it up to gearing or the track. I did not like that track anywhere but on a SnoCross track but really thought gearing was issue. Cripes going from 1 1/4 stock track on Phazer to the 1.625 Freeride only killed 3mph on Phazer! Just dont get why the gearing didnt help Weasel MUCH more!

So something is wrong or changed from the factory in his primary? Just trying to figure out where the elevated engagement speed is coming from.

Its not. I told you guys to stop worrying about the engagement numbers. It is way to subjective. The tach sucks for something like that. Just ride it and compare to other sleds. To me it seemed fine.

So now I am back at square one. TD says with the COTC it had a high jerky engagement. I asked if NOS-PRO clutches fixed the jerky engagement. I am not sure if you answered it seemed fine to you with TD clutch or NOS-PRO or both?

I really did not pay much attention to the engagement. The focus was on top speed. The Ulmer clutching fixed the engagement with the lower initial rate of the OPO spring and no shims.

With me as pilot each setup did 88mph with a flicker of 89 mph with the Ulmer at the end., but I call a fluke.

I guess I can only go by what I read and you said "It's acting exactly like mine does. Upper 3's engagement and jumps in." which is not what the COTC does in a healthy clutch. I was trying to determine the cause as others might wonder also. Now I have doubts all together and think I will drop from this thread.

It seemed fine with both clutches. Very driveable and I would not have any problem going slow such as loading into a trailer with it.

I just don't get it......SMH

Changed gears, still running in the 80's..... I just don't get it..... Just do not get it :(

What is really getting me is the 2014 is walking away from them both. Is there something in the ECU program causing this? Was there a different program put in these 15 LE's to give it a bunch of grunt downstaires, make the tach/engine rev faster at engagement?

I know there is definitley a difference bewteen the 14 and the re-flash I had done....I noticed it on my AFR gauge immmediately and had to lean out my idle and midrange through my PC5.

I want my 14 ECU program back......

Actually Phazer had a 1" track stock!

We're they all reflashed? Mine is faster after the flash. Higher rev limit.

That was why I wanted the re-flash....higher rev limit. Mine seems about the same for top end but have only hit over 100 1 or 2 times the last 3 trips up and it was perfect conditions next to Shagman. I do notice mine kicks back more often now....than it did before the re-flash.

I don't know.....I'm trying to figure this out as I know Weasel is not a happy camper right now with a close to $14,000 sled that only runs 80's

I'm going to find a stock 14 ECU once again

I haven't reflashed. I haven't heard enough positives with it to want it. Hot starts have only been occasional and it always fires with a crack of the throttle.

I had a couple "hot starts" but no kickbacks....I'm afraid one day it's going to bite me. Just trying to figure out the issues with these guys sleds not being able to run like the rest now that their gearing is corrected.
