Anybody relocate the tail light on a XTX with a Yamaha tow bumper installed? I'd like to keep the tow bumper but don't think there is enough room...any other ideas would also be appreciated!

I used an LED trailer light instead of relocating the factory light, I am not sure how much room you have on those mounting flanges to put a trailer LED light on there, but it may be your best bet.

I've got the all clear one on top that lights up red:

If not a smaller one might fit where the reflector is.

Where did you get them??

If you look at my build in my signature you can see how i installed one of those and how it fits on the back of the tunnel. I can't remember the site I bought it from. It was around $20

I just picked one up from ebay, make sure that you buy the brake/running light combo though, should be a 3 wire hookup. I think I paid about $20-30 for it.

Thanks guys...problem is I want to try and keep my tow bumper...maybe I can fab something up?

You have a picture of this tow bumper? I have the saem after market light as these guys and it does work great, and is visible on the aftermarket GYT bumper I have?

This is a MTX one but same idea

This is what I did on my wife's XTX

I like that!! How did you get the wires over/under the exhaust?

Next to the exhaust??? Brilliant!!! But the heat worries me quite a bit

The wires are run in the same place as before. They are just tucked away and zip tied out of sight were necessary. I was worried about the heat to. But so far so good, no sign of any kind of heat damage. The light came off of a eBay seller. Its a motorcycle LED brake light. The white part is reflective tape, again off of eBay. I just cut it to fit. Works well.

So the wires run down the stock location then turns under the muffler and up into the light...did you wrap them with heat tape? I'm thinking they would be close to 2" under the muffuler and tie wrapped to the opposite side somehow? Great idea!!

I'm seeing a lot of 4" brake lights on ebay...I'm thinking the one you have is smaller? Would it be possible to pm me the link to the seller??

One more thing...that a home made turnout??

I suggest you go to a trailer or rv store and look at their selection. They usually have tons of LED lights in different sizes etc. that's where I found mine
