Replacing Heater Element/grip

So grips and elements are on back order from Yamaha
Any other options to use?
I would like to ride this weekend.....damn it

RSI elements with slip on grips would work. Check with other dealers, including non-Yamaha. Somebody's gotta have some grips in town somewhere. If you're in the south of town, Allan Johnston's in Manotick have a lot of stock. Call around.

Yes found Rsi elements (kit) and one grip not far from home
Can I just put one of the rsi elements on or will that screw with my ecu or my yamaheater?

you can change just one but they will almost certianly be different temps on your hands but better then nothing. as far as the ecu with the yamaheaters just call rock he will tell you for sure about his product and he will be glad you called great guy.

Might as well change both since the other one can't be too far from failing too.

Very true
I jused emailed Rock to see if there would be any ill effects

with mine the right hand had a small fold or crease in the element from the factory that gave way over time the left hand had no such crease and prolly never would have failed but the temp differnce was too much for me one hand burning other barely warm.

So when you peel factory elements off the foam stays
Should I leave it on for insulation or scrap it off?

leave foam or grips wont fit right I left old element on one and that was the best fit

Too late for element it's off...damn
They sold me the ones you have to solder the factory plugs on
Not sure if they will work with both rivets

good luck you should be able to manipulate them into a position that they will work.

Won't work with rivets
What about black tape over the foam then the elements and glue grips on?

I would not use tape on them it will cause a loose grip the rivets are for the grip not the element if you cant rivit they should be okay many grips are held on with just grip glue tought one hope you didnt pay tomuch for the elements as you will prolly want to change them again in the off season if you cant rivet the grips on they will come loose over time i bet but for a short term fix glue is okay.

Ya not very happy
Likely won't last
