This summer I'm going to replace the idlers on my sled. For the rear I am going with the Excell X wheels. Does anyone have a recommendation for the front? I want something that has replaceable bearings. Does anyone know if the OEM upper idlers have replaceable bearings?

Thanks.

Excell's kit does not replace the rear axle wheel if that is what you mean. Also they don't sell an extra wheel kit for the phazers due to clearance issues. All we need are the 4 wheels.

I had emailed him a few weeks ago with questions and this is the info I got.

The upper wheels (the ones up in the tunnel not on the rails) do have replaceable bearings. They are 6006's

I had emailed Aaron and was told that they will replace all my rear axle wheels - I told them I have a 4th wheel kit and they said order 4 of them!

Here is his reply:

Just 4 Paul, easy bolt’em and go

Best Regards

That is weird. I asked him if the kit only replaces the 4 on the rails or if it also does the rear axle and if there was an extra wheel kit. This is the response I got...

"All you will need is 4 wheels, we didn’t make a extra wheel kit for the Phazer, had some interference issues.Yes just the smaller idlers that are in the front of your skid

That makes more sense based on their size. Maybe Aaron read my email wrong.

So the new question is what idlers everyone recommend for the rear axle? I do have the 4th wheel kit installed.

I really like the look of the Yamaha accessory spoked wheels for the rear axle. They have replaceable/serviceable bearings.

I got those spoked wheels and they do look better than the originals with replaceable bearings. They came stock on 2010 and up Apex. Phazers kept using the same old wheels. Check through Dennis Kirk as they seem to have the same wheel for around $30 instead of the usual stealer price and you have the choice of black, silver and blue.

Royal sells the spoked wheels also... they are doo wheels, 2 sizes, 7.125" or 7.87"... and have 6004 bearings installed.... $23.99, page 162.
