I just got an 07 phazer and it will not let me switch between forward and reverse, without lifting the rear end. i have heard there is a fine line on the chain tension, i have tried adjusting both ways. any help would be appreciated. thanks

It is normal to have to rock the sled back and fourth sometimes to get it into reverse. There are gears for the reverse that need to be aligned inorder for them to slide together which is why you need to rock the sled.

No, it's NOT normal to have to rock or lift the sled. Have a read at how I adjusted it:

It is a very fine line and these sleds seem to like it loose. The manual does mention that you "sometimes" have to blip the throttle to get it to engage.
BTW, you should add your location info before you are reminded by one of the mods

lower rpms helps. 2700 & less, it should engage.
i think there was a some sort of shim kit also, but may not be needed.

up at the front behind the a arms on the left side when sitting on the sled. take out the rubber cap and yoy should be able to get a phillips screw driver in there and it will adjust the idle.

"Finger tight" can mean different things to different people and is very subjective. I had the most success getting reverse to work when I turned the screw just until I felt a little resistance and then back off 1/4 turn from there.
