I put a new track on the wifes 06 Vector and now when I shift in or out of reverse it's like it spins then engages and snaps pretty severe. When I turn it by hand I hear it snap in. I took it apart again but don't see anything wrong. It's not the slop in the jackshaft. Tried adjusting the linkage but that didn't help. Any help would be appreciated.

do you have the chain tensioner snug properly?
also how about the track drive lugs riding against the drive cogs/wheels? (this one don't sound like it would be the snapping problem)

Just a thought but did you hook the forks on the bottom inside lower gear for reverse properly ? the vector maybe different than the apex idk
