Reverse with Turbos

I ran a turbo last year (12psi 250hp) with reverse. Just wondering if anybody had any problems or concerns about having reverse with so much power. I haven't had any trouble so far. Can it keep on taking it?

Why would you need to use all 250 hp. when backing up

Very funny- maybe in Saskatchewan! You could still see me backing up after 3 days!
Anyway, I had heard that Bender's 358 HP sled blew the chaincase after letting off the "go handle".
I used to have Cats; the reverse wasn't recommended on any of the larger sleds.

I have reverse on mine and have had no chaincase issues. I run 25/38 gears. I wish there was a 36 reverse gear.

Have you changed to 10 tooth drive sprockets?

I'd be most concerned about the chain (rather than the sprockets etc.) in these crazy hp. sleds ..... especially when letting off the go lever abruptly during a hard high speed pull. The torque instantly reverses through the chain (track is driving the engine almost instantly). It's usually a broken chain the blows up a chaincase.

No problem with reverse on a turbo sled as long as you have "turbo" in your mind when you pull the revers selector.

I've run the reverse with 10 lbs on the ashpalt. It has'nt broke yet, but the chain letting go at 136 mph is always on my mind. Expessially with about 12000 miles on everything.

Replace your chain with a new one (it sounds like you know what the results of having your track lock up solid at 130+ mph could be).

No, I am using the 9" Extroverts. I think there might be a clearance issue with the 10" drivers. I had the 9" tips cut down for drive shaft clearance.
I have used a heavily studded chisel 1/2" track on ice and the chain is holding up so far.

TURBO W/REVERSE-NO PROBLEM. ESPECIALLY WHEN THE POLARIS AND SKIDOO RER GETS STUCK...................WE ALL START TO RACE IN REVERSE.
