I got this off of another site so I cannot verify the accuracy, but the report is rather interesting.

Where do I start. I am a very, very loyal Yamaha rider and a very, very loyal 2 stroke person. I did not like the idea, nor did I even ride a four stroke sled other than on a lake until today. I currently have a Viper and I love it. It is the best sled I have ever owned.
There were a limited number of sled for us to ride, here is what we had:
2-2004 RX-1's
1-2004 Viper
1-2005 RX-1
2-2005 Warriors
3-2005 Vectors
2004 RX-1 vs 2005 RX-1
No comprarison. The 2005 fells like a totally different sled. The mono-shock is awesome. The sled feels lighter, faster, smoother, and the weight transfer is superb. You could immediately feel the difference when you jumped from the '04 to the '05. The dial adjust for the skid is really cool. You could feel when you changed the setting. The '05 is phenomenol in the bumps. No kick, no nervousness, just pure controlled plushness. Great at any speed. If you think the RX-1 was a great sled, don't ride the '05, you'll hate your '04, unless you have a Warrior. The Warrior makes the Pro-action work perfectly. This is the sled the Pro-Action was made for. The Warrior rides twice as good as my Viper with the Pro-Action and was a joy to ride. A tough choice between RX's, but my nod definately goes to the RX-1 with the mono-shock.
Vector vs. Viper
Wow. This is tough for me. As I mentioned I love my Viper. I plan on keeping it...until I trade it in on a Vector next year! The Vector amazed me. What a suprise. I did not expect the power of this sled to impress me. I was wrong. It out-ran the Viper until the very top, where the Viper would probably pass it if the lake were long enough, but not by much. The Viper feels faster from the seat, but it is not. The Vector is deceptively fast. You have to look at the speedo to realize how fast your accelerating. The Vector even hung close to the RX-1 until the top. Very impressive and very smooth. The ride was yet another suprise. I had a chance to ride a short distance in a road ditch. WOW. The Vector feels lighter than the Viper and rides and handles 10 times better. The skid eats up the bumps and never got out of control. Plush yet firm and controlled with great weight transfer. You could ride the Vector twice as fast as the Viper in the rough. This sled absolutely rocked on the trails. It went where you pointed it, and the power was always right there. I did not even have to pin the throttle to the bar to get the kind of acceleration from the 4 stroke like you have to on a 2 stroke. It is more like riding a motorcycle than a sled. Less braking in the corners and quicker accelerating to the next. Another plus in the equation is the Ripsaw track. I have 144 studs in my Viper, and the ripsaw was nearly as good. Icy corners were not as good, but the rest made up for it. I may never stud another track. Another thing that impressed me is the lack of fumes. Even in the back of the pack, with 8 sleds in front of me with snowdust lingering in the air, there was no smell. It made it enjoyable. As much as the smell of 2 stroke made me horny, I will not miss it one bit.
Conclusion
I can not put into words how I feel about these sleds. I have not had that much fun in an hour ride in a long, long, long time. If these sleds are the future, I want it, YESTERDAY! I can not wait until next winter. These 4 stroke sleds make 2 strokes look antiquated at best. I am 1000% converted. These sleds shattered my expectations. After riding a REV, I was concerned that Yamaha was going to be left out to dry in the ride and handling department. I am not concerned anymore. The new sleds form Yamaha handle as good if not better than any sled I have ridden. If you get a chance to ride one of the new Yamaha's DO IT. Even if you hat Yamaha, it is an experience that will change your mind about 4 stroke sleds, and about how Yamaha's ride and handle. WOW!

Excellent post. Nice to see that the new skid is better than my 03 RX-1. Can't wait to try one myself.

Snap he is a manager at a Yamaha dealership. He states this in a later post when asked the same ?
