Hello All,
Taking a trip to Michigan and figured I would drag the sleds out also. Question is I was told we are going to Houghton Lake Mi. Has any one on here ridden there and can you suggest a loop to take? Would to ride to the bridge maybe???? Thanks for your Help!

Riding Houghton Lake area is pretty good right now.
From there to Grayling, Gaylord, Frederic, and some Blue Bear trails would be a good ride.
Riding from there to Mackinac Bridge and back would be a long day.
Here is a good site with trail maps and reports.
Fishweb.com and Michigan Snowmobile Trail Reports on Facebook also.

Make sure you go to the Ambassador Restaurant in Houghton and get a Tostada pizza. You will thank me when you get back. :)

Can't go wrong with any direction or loop you take.

X2 on the ambassador. Awesome place with tons of history there and the area.

Please be aware that Houghton (the town) and Houghton Lake (a lake) are a very long way apart. I believe the restaurant they are speaking of is in the town of Houghton which is in the Keweenaw Peninsula of the Western Upper Peninsula. You mentioned Houghton Lake which is in the middle of the Norther Lower Peninsula. They did get some rain and some new snow, so conditions are good, but trails are better to the north. You can ride to the bridge, but it includes a lot of straight trails (railroad grades, etc.). There is much better riding to the northeast and the northwest.

Like mentioned above http://www.fishweb.com/recreation/snowm ... iling.html is a great site.
