Riding with a passenger

I'm 230 and 6'4" my girl is 110 and 5'9" and pretty weak and thought she would fall off the back so I put her up front and I stand behind her.. I stand solo too so no big deal I think that works damn good. Nothing to worry about except the occasional helmet smack. I know a lot of ppl give me #*$&@ but being tall I can reach over w/out a problem

Ride with the wife on back, had to move the seat up to know she was back there. Harly notice her.

But get smacked in the ribs allot when I lay on the throttle

Wrode with my "better half" with the stock seat and it was a little scary. I was affraid she was going to fly off the back cause there's no hump on the seat.

I've recently bought a Nytro Seat Jack(very slick and easy to take on a off) and she is much more secure and comfortable. She's about 115lbs and I'm 190lbs and we bottom out on any bigger bump even with the rear springs on hard and the compression turned up. Good for cruising and relaxing but if you want to keep up with the boys you'll bottom constantly.

Might look into a little siffer skid springs in the rear for next year.

Update from my above post.... I went out for a good 60 mile ride with the wife yesterday and realized that the first time we went out I didn't have the compression cranked as firm as I thought. I rode yesterday with the rear shock at 9 and 10 clicks in yesterday and the suspension was nice and stiff. No need for different springs! Woohoo

I am having second thoughts about selling my nytro because of this thread, and seriously considering a seat jack.

Did you just stiffen up the shocks or did you change the spring setting to hard? How comfortable does she find the seat? Would you consider it to be okay for riding 2 up for 150 km's?

I rode the way it was set up. Well over 100 miles.

I've always had the torsion springs on hard and the last time out had the compression cranked up to 9 or 10. With the Seat Jack I wouldn't worry about doing 150km's, she finds it very comfortable. I'd highly recommend the seat.
