Yes. Rip 1 has a more aggressive lug, almost saw-tooth looking. It's the original, and famous for better forward bite. Came on all the 90's & early 2000 ZR800 & 900.Looks like the only difference between 1&2 is the lug design?
I was told Cat tested the Rip1 on the 998 ProCross chassis just before it came out in 2017. Test riders fell it was "too aggressive" and would have required better ski carbides to balance out so they decided to invent the Rip2 instead. Rip2 are tough, durable agressive Camso tracks. I need all the forward bite I can get with my mod-stock turbo Stage 4 tune. Lol.
