I just bought a brand new take off track that I'm going to be putting on my viper for this coming year, 137" track. It's the same exact thing as what's on the sled now except I'm going with longer studs and a different pattern. Anyways what I'm wondering is if anyone has taken a grinder to the quiet bumps on the inside of the ripsaw 2 track? Those bumps have got to rob some power and speed. I'm going to try to remove them with a flap disk on a grinder unless anyone has any easier or better approaches. I don't plan to take them down completely flush cuz I don't want to weaken the track but I'm planning to take the majority of the bump off.

Don't waste your time you would be better to spend your time clipping the track fully IMHO

In theory the bumps should make the track roll more smoothly and easier, they fill in what are open spaces caused by bending the segmented track around a round wheel. Would be interesting to see what you find.

Except 90% of the track is flat at any given time. Was originally designed to reduce noise for the Twinspar chassis. Now is different chassis, different wheel placement and different track yet the bumps are identical. Personally I would not grind them off. Just to much risk.

Yep I agree little to no gain
