Anyone know how much stock cables will allow for handlebar risers? I was told 2 inches by a couple places. Anyone have em on their sled?

Also anyone have any seat modifications? A dealership around here says they got one in the works that raises the back up like 2-3 inches. A friend said I could probably get some hard foam from a local seat guy and he'd cover it over with a new seat cover. He thought it could be raised up 3-4 inches this way. Anyone have any other ideas or mods to their seats?

I have 2" risers and they work flawlessly :D Had to do a couple of things:

1. Loosen and move throttle block 1/4" - 3/8" (from memory) in.
2. Take throttle cable out of the thin, metal u shaped guide.
3. Push bars forward.
4. Remove brake hose clamp below overflow bottle and route over the bottle. Put the parking brake cable back in the clamp at the frame.
5. Test left and right turns, to check slack - 1st with engine off then with engine at idle. If it runs like crap then the TORS is activated and you have to adjust the block a little more. You should be able to turn both ways at idle without any increase in RPMS.

If you need pics or further help, send me a PM, or do a search on bar risers on TY it's where I got my help from.

Hope this helps you

I put 2" raiser on my sled and all you need is the throttle cable from the 2004 Mt Viper. The 04 Mt Viper comes with taller bars so the cable works great. Get it from your dealer, it costs about $18.00. That is the only mod I had to do for the raiser other wise you could have some problems. I have put on 500 miles of hill climbing and mountain riding with no problems.

Riser

2" Sportech riser and RX-Mountain throttle cable. No problems and awesome control for stand up riding.

I am +4 and +3 in width. Rx mtn parking brake and choke cable, braided brake line, and 01 mm throttle cable (modified) the Rx mtn cable was not long enough...

Installed the 2 inch risers and the stock cables work just fine. In fact they might even be able to swing 3 inchers. Thanks for all the advice.

Now I think I'm going to put a low profile shield on it along with yellow hand guards. Hopefully my plan to raise the seat a bit works as well. I'll let you know and try to post pictures when done.

Black sled eh?

I better work quickly on those handguards  - Yes your fingers will freeze with gloves in extreme cold weather. Good thing we have rear exhaust - No kidding, it works as an auxillary hand warmer too
