Dad rolled his warrior last nite, now theirs a flashing warning light and fuel level. What's the problem? And how can we fix? Because we can't get an accurate fuel level! Other than that sled runs great.

Maybe the fuel leaked out and it's empty, but then I'm sure you checked that, lol. What about the float/sensor stuck in the tank somehow?

x2. i would top it up and shake/tip the sled to see if it is only stuck.

This is not related to your problem, But check your oil level after a roll over.
Check the connector at the front of the fuel tank to make sure it is fully connected. Look as see if any of the wires were severed or pinched. Then if the electrical is O.K., ...
The rod in the fuel tank is probably stuck. Take a flashlight and see if you can reach it with a coat hanger to gently move it. Also, maybe the float came off the rod. ?
You can remove it from the tank fairly easily via the access port in the front of the tank.

I do not want to hijack this thread but I have a question and may be a solution. I had a minor roll this weekend as well in some deep/steep snow. Just enough to get it so the track was a little more than 90 Deg. It was laying on the clutch side and handle bar. I could not get it shut off in time as it was all under the snow. It ran like that for may be 20 to 30 secs before it stalled. When we flipped it over some gas came out as expected but then a ton of oil. Turns out after inspection it filled the air box with oil and then when we flipped it back over it ran down the scoop under the foam and out the bottom. It came up the crank vent I expect. The oil indicator and warning light was on as soon as I started it. I sent someone for oil and it took a touch over a litre to be back to full.
Is this normal? Is it because it kept running? There is no check valve like a PCV on a car to stop that?
I would check your air box for oil under the foam as well.
Thanks for any help it seems weird as the mountain boys must roll all the time and this would be a poor design. What a mess it made.

You are very lucky. If the oil had gotten into the cylinders you would be buying a new engine. If you tip the sled over, you need to clean out the air-box and remove the spark plugs and roll the engine over using the clutch by hand to ensure you have not hydro-locked the engine. Once all the oil is out of the air-box and cylinders, then re-install the plugs and then start the engine. Usually hydro-lock breaks a rod and crankcase.bluecanuck said:.... Never tip it on the PTO side without first purging any possible hydro-lock. Fuel can also cause a hydro-lock (e.g. if a carb float sticks open).
You were lucky!

If the engine was hydrolocked and you couldn't move it by hand then what would you do if you were out in the country somewhere?

Clean oil out of Air-box. Take out the spark plugs and roll engine over using the clutch by hand. Once it rolls over by hand, crank it for a few seconds. Then reinstall the plugs, check oil level and if the oil level is within range on the dipstick, start it.

K so I am lucky in both engine and body damage but here is the question. Is it normal to come out the crank vent into the air box? Is there any mod to help with this in the future? I did not know they made sleds that could not take a minor spill without that kind of major stuff going on. Seems like a check valve is in order for the vent.

There is a guy that said he has developed a mod for this. I have no idea if the mod actually works or not.
I would tell you that I never need this mod because I drive better. But, I don't. At < 20 mph, last year, I hit two successive > 3' deep holes and mine went for a tumble. The sled went out in the swamp, and I was skidding down the trail on the top of my helmet. Fortunately, the sled did not roll it because it was about 5 minutes before I decided I was in good enough shape to walk out into the swamp and shut it off. It was sitting upright. So, I am not the one to tell you to drive better. Maybe someone else can tell us that. But, ... Stuff happens.

Ahh I have flipped several rx-s several times just flop it over give it a chance for everything to drain down fire and go. I flipped one in West Yellowstone it landed ontop of me and pinned me there for almost 10 mins till I dug out from under it and rode it back down the hill.
The warning light you are seeing is most like a result of the connector into the back of the gauge getting pulled loose. My 05 does this regularly now after my daughter rolled it onto the windshield last year. I sometimes also just lose the speedometer even though everything else works. I open the hood push the connection and evedrything comes back.

Thanks for the comment but the warning light was accurate it did loose a little over 1 litre of oil out the vent hose and into the airbox. Then when i flipped it back over it drained out of the air box and into the bottom of the engine compartment and out on the ground. Since the engine ran for a few seconds (20) I am guessing it kept pumping it from the sump and out the vent from the way it was laying.
Knowing this now I will try extra hard to get to the kill switch in the future.

Yeah, but how many engines have you gone through?
AH HA! The truth about your blown motors comes out!

AH 2 MOTORS AND ODDLY ENOUGH THEY WERE IN THE SAME SLED AND THAT ONE WAS NEVER UPSIDE DOWN - SIDE SEVERAL TIMES BUT NOT SKIS TO THE SKY
