Question for those that have replaced the traction brackets on an 03 shorty with Rox sledtreds. Did the sledtreds stiffen the tunnel more or less (or about the same) as the traction brackets?

I like the look of the mountain sledtreds better. Is there a reason not to run these on a shorty?

BTW, Rox discontinued the sledtreds for rx1's, hopefully someone has a set leftover. I should have known there were on sale on Rox's website this spring for a reason.

TIA,

-Al

According to Rox, they have discontinued the Sled-Treads for the RX-1. They have a clearance going on for the RX-Mountain treads but unfortunately, according to them, they will not fit the RX-1.

The RX-M treads are gone too. I was told last year by ROX the mountain treads would fit. I sent Rox an email yesterday. Here's their response:

"We are sold out and have discontinued both the RX-1 and RX-Mountain Sledtreds due to low demand.
Thanks for your interest, sorry we can't provide the product"

I might just paint the traction brackets and install the sno-slips that I have.

Yeah, I got one of those emails too. Damn '04 dinosaur! I was really looking forward to widening the boards at the rear. Maybe try Fett Brothers, they have something that looks like it would work pretty good.

i bouht my mine from bossman in spring,i was hesitant at the time cause the price wasnt far from the new ones. glad i did now. They look awesome

I got lucky. Rox found one set of mountain treds in their warehouse archives. Should be here within a week. ;)!

I'm designing a board traction plates with rear kick ups. I may have a enough material left to make 2 more sets after I am done with mine. Here is a pick of a small test piece and what the traction will be like.
I will cut, and then tig weld this together. Tiged to the running board outer edging piece and riveted to the tunnel. ( Wont be able to see these rivets either. )
I'm not manufacturing these or anything, just something I dreamed up. I fabricate metal for a living, so it's just another day at the office for me. lol
