RPM'S???

Ditto the above. You won't hurt the sled at 8900, but like silver said....you're losing power.

I think I may order Ulmer's clutch kit. Mine is almost reaching 9000 rpm when I hit the throttle at 60 mph. It really started to over-rev once it passed the 700 mile mark. The stock clutching seems rather soft.

8500-8600 tops i do believe is where they are to be. After that your just losin power.
Thanks for info guy's ;)! Changed the belt and the same rpm's!!! Any quick fix???

My nytro did the same....i ended up putting a heavier rivet in the tip of the weight. Mine was actually hitting 9200 from a dead stop and setteling down to 9000.

How did the new rivit work out for you?

If I whack the throttle open on my Vector, the tach will peak at 9000 then settle back down to about 8500 after less than one second. I figured this was normal. Opinions? I must admit that I'm not in the habit of paying attention to the tach 'cause it's my first snowmobile that has one.

I loaded my ramps with heaviest rivets. This did a good job... still on the high side at 8700. Put my hand on a set of 8FA, with a base weight of 63g, compared with the 54g 8ES storker. That what i have now, with a yellow spring, and the secondary at 70, from 60. May run low a bit at 8200... too much loaded, next time i go in will lighten the tip a bit.

Never before that the top of my primary seen a belt before. I gained 5km at top, trail rpm is down a bit , >=3 mpg, still after a hard stretch the clutches are just above cold. What amaze me is the takeof at 60 km and above... will not click back from this setup. I was spinning like hell at start anyway.
I think the 8FA is a base ramp from a RX-1.
