RS Oil Filters???

Does any body know if my Rage has the same filter as the RX-1? Wanna order one and my catalog only has them listed for RX-1. :?:

The Rage uses a 5DM-13440-00-00 filter.

The RX1 uses a 5GH-13440-10-00 filter.

Hey S.S. what is the difference between the two? I wonder if the cross ref. chrt for the RX filters would work for our rs. Thanks. :ORC MM.

The RS filter is shorter as there's a clearance issue the way it's mounted in the engine compartment.

The good news is you can remove the filter through the access panel on the bottom of the belly pan. The '03 RX1 required you to remove the airbox and battery to change the filter.

You'll really need to be careful to watch the length of aftermarket filters when you do any cross reference. I know from trying to find one for my Raptor (same as RS) that many "interchangeable" aftermarket filters are longer and could interfere with the rear brake pedal..

I now have 3 Yamahas that take the long filter (2 Grizzly/ 1 Kodiak), 1 that requires the short filter (Rage) due to clearance and 1 that could go either way depending on how comfortable I am with kicking it now and again. (Raptor) :roll:

My dealer sold me an RX-1 filter for the my wifes Vector. Is this the right one? Part numbers please.....

stylus, all the 3 cyl. sleds that the same oil filter,
you need a 5DM filter the RX or 4cyl machs use a 5GH filter.
