Just started replacing jack shaft bearing and chain case bearings and seals. pressed bearings in ok but had a job to get the seals in place. where do you place the oil seals in the case, how far do they need to be from the top finish of the placement area? the top one especially wanted to wonder so I placed the collar in place and seated the seal ,but the lower one only got a collar approx. 1/4" on the lower shaft and the seal has about 3/8" placement area, do the lower shaft collar come off the shaft? Do not want to place seal and only one rib make on the collar causing a possible future leak.
