I just got off the phone with Yamaha.
After 6 mos. of phone calls, being on hold and a lot of patience, I got a customer service rep. that was very helpful (Ian). He stated that my dealer was supposed to make a judgement as to which set of springs would best suit my needs. (he means total weight with passenger)
My sled was the first one that my dealer set up so I don not blame them for giving me the 2500 NM torsion springs when I should have gotten the 3000 NM set. The end result will be that Yamaha is going to issue me the 3000 NM springs installed at a dealer at Yamaha's cost.
Please tell me more............. I didn't realize yammie offered the bigger springs.. I'm 220. I have mine set at medium and it seems to bottom verrrrrrrrrrrry rarely.. MM.
With the 2-Up Venture there is a 'Coarse' adjustment block that goes from 1Up to 2Up. Also the usual S-M-H spring block and the shock adjustment.
I can ride the machine by myself at all settings on 1Up and medium with no issues. When you add a passenger to the back (added weight and position leverage) we frequently bottom out with everything turned up to "Hard" in 2 Up settings. These heavier springs will give the ability and range to ride both 1 and 2 up with little to no bottoming.
Hope this helps.
