-I'm on RSI's website, they have the heated grips with the Yamaha connectors. but it says they fit the viper, says nothing about the Nytro.
-Asking if these RSI heated grips will fit a 2011 Yamaha Nytro XTX?
-Don't want to solder in universal ones.
-Thanks guys!

They don't make a unit for the nytro. You have to solder the 3 wire one together with the two wires that are on the sled now. Simple enough to do, and it's a very big improvement.

Rock more than likely could get you the correct connectors that you could solder to the RSI elements but they may not be cheap? This way you can make it plug N play with your sled. G.B.

I ordered the Yamaha handwarmer kit a few years ago. I'm pretty sure it's just a rebranded RSI kit. If I remember correctly, it is a three wire kit so you will have to solder the hi/lo together. I can get you images and a part # for the kit tomorrow if you wanted to cross reference.
I ended up never using the kit because I picked up some Polaris ProTaper bars at Hay Days for dirt cheap with the heating elements already installed and in good working order.

I have ordered sets with the correct plugin from Yamaha. (I have seen two different models of these). I also have bought RSI sets that say Yamaha on the package, with out the plugins on. In my opinion the RSI ones are hotter and last longer. With Rockmeister's help I have learned through trial and error if one burns out you need to change them both if you are switching brands or models as one side will be much hotter than the other.

Also keep in mind that it's very common for the OEM ones to burn out because over time the grips will begin to twist ever so slightly.
You will have much better luck with the RSI kit.

I wonder why the left side is so common. Seems like the right side doesn't fail quite as often. Has anyone ever tried to get warranty on them? Mine are only 2 months old. I suspect there won't be any as who's to say who is actually at fault.

My theory is that our hands rest further to the outside of the left grip. Our right hand sits far to the inside because we need to reach the throttle with our thumb.

That does make sense.

Part of the reason why I went with a Polaris ProTaper bar. They have hooks on the ends rather than a curve (which I actually prefer). In my experience, when ever I was needing to use the curves on the stock bars, I was usually playing around in powder and never really needed the extra heat there for that reason. I do know that you can by RSI elements that don't wrap around the curve.

2009 Phazer MTX
Left failed on my Phazer also. I installed the RSI's but only used one of the circuits instead soldering both together in fear of too much draw through the ECM. Stock could draw ~25w each max, RSI with one circuit is about 33w max, and 60w with both soldered together. Single circuit has proves OK down to -15*f on my Phazer but does not get scorching hot, stock was barely useable at only 0*f
