Is it possible to position the heating elements to be able to use the stock grips and rivet them back on?

I was able to pull the stock grips off but you can't use them with the RSI elements. The stock heating elements have a foam tape under them that builds up the diameter quite a bit and when you install them with the RSI elements they are way to big!

I finally had a chance to ride with the new RSI heaters installed and all I can say is they barely get warm enough to notice. I did wire them as the instructions suggested. Looks like I'm gonna have to buy the Yamahaheater set up

You've either have some other issue, or made a mistake in wiring them. I've done a few of these with RSI, and they get very hot. I've used the Yamaheater as well. That works too. But, I'm sure there are many other folks on here that will agree that the RSI grips work at least as well as the Yamaheater, for significantly less money. Double checking things may really pay off.......

How did you wire them up? The instructions may say otherwise but people have been wiring them up by putting the blue and red wires together.

I wired them as per RSI instructions, which is as per Mooseman's post above (blue and red together), and the heaters work excellent. Nice that they work with the stock controls too. It was cold this weekend and I never had them above half power!

I wired them per the instructions white/blue together. Wouldn't wiring the blue/red burn them out quicker? The instructions on Dennis kirk says to wire them this way and RSI website says to wire the Blue/Red together.

I can't comment on the white-blue together setup, but I did red-blue together as per the attached instructions, and they work great.
