RTX or XTX?

Im buying a new sled in the next few weeks. I now have a Nytro XTX with 10,000 miles. I ride mostly trails but will go off trail as well. Love the Nytro XTX for that purpose. Looking at a leftover 2014 RTX or the 2016 XTX.
I'm leaning towards the XTX for the offtrail capability but wondering how it handles on the trail. I'm a aggressive rider, 5'9" 170lbs.

Any feedback on how the XTX viper handles on the trails would be great. I'm assuming the viper XTX handles much better then the Nytro XTX?
Thanks!

6000 miles on 14 xtx it's great both on and off trail. On bumpy trails you can carry the skis over the bumps and the rear sucks them up. Get ski pressure right And it rails through corners. Nytro doesn't compare in handling. Your mods will be clutching and power mods as handling is great.

I agree with Shagman. I never really even looked at longtracks but after riding a few I was amazed at how they handled and rode on trail. I like the transfer of the XTX. Its how I setup my RTX. It works. I believe the XTX requires less suspension work to get it right than the RTX. Once done on a RTX they are awesome also with the advantage of being a bit more maneuverable in some conditions especially if trail is setup and lot of traction. Off trail of course is no way a 129 is going to go everywhere those longtracks go but if your smart about it and sometimes go in there tracks its still pretty good. I would say if you are ever going off trail alone definitly get the XTX. If not just be reasonable in off trail expectations of 129" and expect to do some suspension work if you want perfection on RTX. I do believe Shagman has the statement of day.
" Your mods will be clutching and power mods as handling is great" So true and probably the reason we all want more speed. This sled works so good it seems slow!

For trail riding coupling is EVERYTHING ( my opinion)and no ajustement on the xtx.....
I dont like the xtx for agressif trail riding !
I would go for the RTX if they dont have LTX

I agree when trails are setup and big traction a RTX is better but last season in 3500mi in WI,MI,PA and NY I rode one morning on perfect setup trails. XTX just requires more throttle, brake and body control to hook up front in the corners on those days since its tougher to get backend loose for sliding in those conditions and you end up with a wheelie monster at worst times. Also Jumping. If you jump the RTX is easier to maneuver in air. Maybe Mr.Sleds 141 coupled skid experiment is going to be the ticket. Can't wait to see how that works.
