So I yanked the rear skid on my 07 Apex RTX. Sled has 3499 miles. Here's what Ive found:
1. Rear torque arm broken in 3 places.
2. All bearings in all the idlers are junk. Yamadog should have equipped this slid with replacable bearings.
3. 2 out 3 track guide steel hoops on front swing arm missing. This I'm sure was caused by the back of the studs(192) grinding them off.
4. Every single bushing completely destroyed or worn out. Sure wish Pioneer would make a bushing kit for this sled. All bushings from Yamaha are about $140.
5. Both limiter straps broken.
6. Sliders worn out.
7. Had to replace some of the idler wheels last season.
8. Left driveshaft bearing full of water and junk.
9. Drive sprokets very worn...also caused by studs.
10. Track is also being replaced. I'm done with studs !! Going to the Ice Attack track from Camoplast.

So I've ordered replacement parts and sent the rear torque arm to my local welder for repairs/improvements. My brother Pete's rear RTX skid has similar issues. Anyone else checked their's yet ????????????

Before you spend too much money check on used RTX suspensions,Some have put other brand suspensions in theres and would sell the original.
I have one with 650 miles on it but I cant sell it until I try out the new suspension.

you race that in snocross or what lol,my o6 rtx had lots of rusty paint chips that i bead blasted and painted all parts, all bearings in wheels gone, slider burned thru on last ride, the rest looked very good ,no wear on any bushings ,ithink the wheels should have bigger wider bearings so they would last longer,im not concerned about a few lbs saving,if im bound up and have a few beers with a big supper, the weight deal goes out the window anyway,my old skidoos never had bearing problems anywhere,oh well i still love the sled and cant wait for snow

Adding reinforcement gussets where possible. Sent my shocks out for revalving to prevent the harsh bottoming.
