RTX Tunnel

fourndog, have you seen the sled in person? Because the black really does look much better :ORC

The Tunnel will be BLACK.. i had this confirmed thru a yamaha rep.

It looks better in black, trust me, but i for one don't like the way it looks after one season of boot wear. But it does look better then the bare aluminum.

Also, If you think about it, the GT and RTX are above and beyond the standard package. I think they are trying to keep the look consistant between the 2 more expensive packages.

Again, i totally appreciate where you are coming from. I have stipped paint of tunnels before and its really not alot of fun, but can be done...BBY

Hey there is nothing we really can do about it but deal with it. I called my dealer and he has not heard anything about the tunnel being painted, the only thing he did hear was the thing about the handlebar pad which has already been talked about. If infact it does come with a painted tunnel I am going to protect the places where your boots may wear the paint away with 3M scotchguard paint protection film. Here is a site you can get it if you are interested. http://www.rockblocker.net/store/34583.htm

I must have missed the topic about the handle bar pad. what's up with it?

You should be able to get all of the paint off the tunnel in one step if you follow these instructions EXACTLY!

1. Buy 3713 Talstrip Aircraft coating.

2. Brush product 1 direction ONLY.

3. Give a lite mist with a water bottle.

4. Cover with a plastic sheet to keep the fume from escaping. (This really helps get to the metal faster)

Good luck!

I like the black tunnel & harder seat. I had a chick I was seeing a while back and she had white sorel boots, they always looked dirty whaen they rubbed on the allum. tunnel.

Re the painted tunnels. Maybe drive them a year and see how the paint holds up. Then you can strip the paint if it's too bad looking. FWIW RR

I would be pisss'd too!!!

If I was to had ordered anything but a Attack, I would have ordered the RTX!

The SA-NO micro spike non-slip pads work great & stop your paint from getting f##ked up or can cover up any paint damage!

The only problem is they do not precut them for sleds anymore & you have to buy it in a sheet & cut them to size!!!

I think theyre powder coated, it'll take some kickass stripper and ALOT of effort to do it and make it look right.

TT, what makes you think they are powder coated? Did you here that from anyone?
