RTX Tunnel

At first Yamaha said the RTX and GT were not going to come with the handlebar pad that we saw on them at the shows. Then I guess because of alot of complaints they changed there mind and said they would put them on.

Happy to hear the pad will be there. As for the tunnel, like the looks of both painted and bare. So, not enough for me to walk away from my deposit.

Are all of the Apex/Attak's gonna have a handlebar pad?

I've never polished a tunnel, what's the best thing to use?

I think theyre powder coated, it'll take some kickass stripper and ALOT of effort to do it and make it look right.

TT, what makes you think they are powder coated? Did you here that from anyone?

I think anymore thats all the manufacturers use on metal rather than paint; because it is more durable when done right. It still scratches easily but it won't wear through to the metal as quick.

Mothers Alumminum Polish is what I use. I have tried several brands and I allways come back to Mothers; it seems to give the best shine overall. ;)!

mother's has a new polish out it is called billet works really well and last longer than the other mother's polish

Its not only about the polish. In order to get a mirror like finish you must sand first. I used 1000 grit, 2000 grit and 4000 grit wet paper and sanded in the long direction. Try not to swirl your sanding pattern. From there you can use Mothers by hand or by wheel. I also really like the Wizards cleaning/polishing products. My favorite product Wizards metal polish. Matt how hard is it 2 maintain that finish during the season?

You definetely need to keep on it through the winter. Its not that bad but if you dont have a heated garage fuggetaboutit.

Just pull in the heated garage, let warm up a bit and use the Wizazrds cotton metal polish. Takes maybe 20 Minutes...BBY
