Phazer info
I think that we may see and have confirmation on it in about two weeks. I was at the Green Bay Snow show this past weekend and had some good conversations that surely led me to believe it may very well be seen in the new race sleds. One can only hope! I'd sure buy one up!! Put it in the Mtn. tracked version!!

Lets see,,,2 YZF450 motors stuck together to compete in the 120 hp class, hardly any weight gain, not much more room consumed, tech is already in place, just waiting to see what the market will bear. Welcome the 2008 Exiter with a big bore twin. Cat won't be able to compete. Vector line will get a new frame (rider forward) and fuel next year.

The more I think about it, the less I believe that Yamaha will release a Phazer with a larger motor. Yamaha always marches to the beat of their own drummer and just because the current fad says to drop a bigger motor in the Phazer, I don't see them doing it.
The idea of the Phazer has a lot in common with the original Phazer. A low priced machine that has snappy power and is easy to throw around. I too wanted them to install a bigger motor but the more I think about it, I don't see the sled being a good canidate for a big motor.
A 900 twin based off two 450's would be hard to tame vibration wise and not offer very many advantages over the 120 triple. If the big bore twin required the gear reduction it could not be used in snocross so what is the point?
Another thing is that once you drop a larger motor in the Phazer there will be a ton of guys who buy it and then complain that the sled is too cold, or not comfortable for long distance rides. I'd be surprised if Yamaha comes out with any new models for '08.

Ever since the 2006's were first released (and even before) everyone's been saying 2008 is the year.
I suspect an higher hp Apex with maybe a few more ponds dropped and the 120 in the DBII with maybe FI and 125hp...
