Anyone had to replace a side heat exchanger? If so, fill me in. Is it easy or am I better off having it done when I get it serviced?

Get a pnumatic rivit gun, and the required rivits, (Yamaha or Granger) not the standard hardware store type. A drill and a good sharp bit. Once you pull the hoses and drill all the rivits out should be as simple as doing the reverse. When you refill the fluid you may want to fill from the back opening to avoid an air pocket.
