I was wondering if anyone makes a tunnerl running board stiffener for 06 attak. Seems my running boards flex to much. Caused a small crack in my heat exchanger that I have had to patch. Anyone make something to stiffen up the running boards?
I just ordered the same for my 06. I'll let ya know.

I have the Muffinworks ones on my '07 Attak. Makes a good improvement and looks good too.

Yea...I did the MuffinWorks this year too....look great, but I question their actual functionality. They are constructed of a very thin guage aluminum and the curve (going from side of tunnel to foot well) is rolled/curved versus a 90* angle. They just dont seemed like they are adding alot of rigidity. Not trying to speak bad, just giving my observation. Time will tell....
Another company makes them..WRP or something like that...saw them on EBay saw a post about them here once, and they look pretty durable. But they were spendy at around $150, versus the cheaper priced Muffin Works.

Whatcha got going on for a arm guards? They look like they wrap around the top. I have muffin works a arm guards and they go on the bottom and much nicer IMO then the OEM plastic guards.Shootinstick said:I have the Muffinworks ones on my '07 Attak. Makes a good improvement and looks good too.

A-arm protectors are ones Rich Motorsports used to sell. Yes, they wrap all around bottom, front and top of A-arm. I haven't tried it, but remember Richierich saying he knocked down 2-3 trees with his. Don't think they are available anymore. Too bad as they work really good. Think they might have been made by PSI.

This is a great post, thanks. I haven't been able to find tunnel stiffeners for an Apex GT anywhere.
Muffin works ltd are great people to deal with also.

Yamaha's stock tunnels are made from .042" thick aluminum. Our tunnel supports are made from .097" - thicker than the stock tunnel.
Also, the radius in the corner is actually what give the design the most support. The 90* corner from the vertical part of the tunnel to the horizontal running board is the weak part. By putting a radius in that corner you effectively end up with two parts that want to move at different rates - making the whole corner stronger ... kinda like a gusset.

I talked to Jason last night and will be completing the sale today. He's a very personable guy with some good information.
