My recommendation is, DON'T do it. I did and didn't care for it. The 121 handled much better in the tight trails and is faster. If I wasn't going to the 128" Firecat suspension, I would be going back to the 121".

funny i had the exact opposite experience. the 136 handled better i thought tracked better at high speeds and didnt lose much top end, id recommend mountain performance for the swap their stuff is always top notch

do you no if they have a kit for 2005 ???
The track interpretation depends on how you ride and where you ride. That is why some like a certain track and another does not.
I talked to one of the Yamaha tech guys at haydays about doing this. He said with the new monoshock, he felt that by the time you beefed up the spring rate to carry the sled with the added length that you would lose ride. That is kinda why the warrior still has the old suspension (besides they have a lot of parts) I do not think he was just doing the company line, but take it for what it is worth.

Perhaps the main reason to go to the 136" was to get the rear suspension to work better as the Warrior did. Since the new suspension for 05 is supposed to be much better going to a 136" for a better ride should not be required.

I converted a zrt from 121 to 136, so I have a little experience with the same sled at both lengths....... and once I went longer, I would never go back.
Ride= way better, Handling = pretty much unchanged, Speed = lost a couple of MPH.
btw - you don't need to 'beef up the springs' with this convesion because the weight increase to the 'sprung' weight of the sled is minimal (weight of the tunnel and rail extensions).
I'd also call Mountain Performance for the parts.

The only problem with extensions is you do not gain the true full benefit of a 136" as you do not relocate the rear shock/spring back you are merely extending the footprint. As far as the rear suspension it is still configured like a 121".

Not exactly..... on good extensions and when you replace 121 rails with factory 136's or 144's the rear suspension attachment point on the rail is moved back.

2005? WTF, why didn't you buy a Warrior???? Monoshock is NOT suited for extension.

The guy was talking about extension kits not new rails.

i try the warrior last year and the difference was a lot better with the 136", so i think with the new 121" monoshock really improved the ride quality, may be with the extention better again ??? and i need traction for my turbo... so what you guy's thinking. thank's for your help. thebest

I've done a few conversions to 136" by just adding rail extensions and the trick is to keep the weight at the front of the skid. Initially, the handling was very poor. The sled felt very long because it was trying to pivot around the rear idler. I had to crank the center shock way up (something that is not possible with a ramped collar) and soften up the back. Instantly, my handling felt like a 121" with much better traction. Good luck with the monoshock as it does not seem to have provisions for adjusting front to rear balance.
