RX-1 Cams??

I was told today by a guy that runs turbos and has won Jackson 3 times that he uses R1 motorcycle cams in his engines. He said the RX-1 cams are very conservative and that you can get at least 10hp more using these cams. Well.......this got me to thinking, because I happen to have a spare R1 engine sitting on my workbench that I was getting ready to tear down that would probably only take an hour or so to swap out. Anybody ever heard of this before??? I need to find cam specs on both of these I guess. Might be fun to play with?

what year is your r1? the cam you need for a 03-05 rx is 98-03. junkie

It's an '01 with 8400 miles on this engine. Do you know any specs?

The stock 98-03 R-1 cams are the same cams that that are in the 03-05 RX-1.

srxspec is right. the r 1 race kit cam,s are very close if not the same as the apex. but i think a valve spring change would be needed as well.

my bad 98-03 race cam. sorry fellas. you can look over a graves site. they are big bucks like $1000 + for the kit.
