First off this site rocks ! All you guys (Maybe gals?) are great.

I have an 03 Rx-1 that was running a little rough between 4-5k on the tach, so naturally I cleaned the carbs. After cleaning the carbs, it appears that has fixed that problem, but now I do not have fast idle when I start it with the choke on. I am driving myself crazy with this. All the jets are the same between carbs. I have the larger jet in the place where the needle is.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

:yam: :rocks:

when you say you cleaned the carbs, how did you do it? the pilot jets are very small and must be removed and inspected carefully for any blockage. hold them up to a light and look through them, should be a round, even hole. these jets affect idle the most and since that is your problem its the first place to check. when using the choke, verify the linkages on the 4 carbs are moving freely back and forth as you move the choke lever. when sled is fully warmed up, set idle to about 1500 rpm. when first starting sled cold, use the choke, but as soon as it starts reduce choke as much as possible, but enough to keep it running. the fast idle only lasts as long as the flashing dash light during warmup, and is off when the light goes out. welcome to the site, hope this helped.

Thank you so much for your reply. I totally disasembled the carbs using a small wire, carb cleaner, adn blow gun to clean all ports. I never checked the Light on scenario. THe sled has been in a heated garage at 65 f. when trying it. I dont think that light even came on.

Thank you so much, I will set it outside for a while, and try it again

Thanks wantboost. I will check that as well.

If the sled is already warm (at 65 Degrees), the fast idle may not even be "turned on" (i.e. is it not cold so there is no fast idle cycle.)

Also, did you sync the carbs? If you cleaned them, they may need to be synced again.
