Does anyone know of anybody that makes a performance kit for the RX-1 engine. I thought I had seen a company making a cam/piston kit that put out 180 - 190 hp for this engine but can't find any info anywhere. I want more power without going to turbo or supercharger.

I do them as well. Fundy Power Sports makes very good power as well.

power up kit

i ran fundy power sports cam,s last year for about the last two weeks of the year. not much tuneing time but as ill prepared as i was wow (no jets the right size) this year should be even better ;)! :jump:

hey john,
did you have to drill your own jet? have some made? or special order them? how much bigger? thanks junkie

jet,s

i could not get what i needed with my numbered bitt,s they were to small or to large 165 was just a touch to lean and the next number size was way to big. i think i found some thing else. any time you do some mod that effects vacum like fillters, cam,s and posably exh mods. the vacum signel is reduced and thus reduces fuel flow on thus long runs. then you think its to lean and jet up. so ihave installed an el fuel pump problem solved. this is some thing that posable could be over looked on a dyno run as there only a few secounds long. the results would be loss of top end power and speed. i think that yamaha knew this thats why each fuel pump is rated at 65 liters each. 130 liters of fuel on a rx 1 theres no way that sled can burn that much fuel. its like an old ford car with vacum windsheild wipers you had to slow down going up hills in the rain to keep the vacum up or the wipers would stop. or just give some gas and they would stop. plus talking to some old bsa, norton etc bike tuners and i was told that they could get 10 more mph by putting one more fuel tap in the tank and run two fuel lines. with no other mods

jets

i will be running 167.5, 170,s this should be realy close for mine. as my bit,s were up in the 185-200 range as i went up from 165 to the drilled bit size the plugs got darker and darker and the radar speeds got slower as the plugs got darker and it was just to crisp with leaner 165,s so i would not hold it to long. it pulled extremly hard but would fall off a couple of hundred rpm on top kind of flaten out. with the 185,s it would just go flat and not pull its peak rpm at all but still plenty fast at 116 117 on the gun but to rich with a dark ring on the outer edge of the plug. not snow white like the 165,s.

rx power

SUPERTUNER, could you tell me a little about what you do to the RX motor? Power? Trailability? Fuel requirements? Time frame for mods? Price? I might be interested in doing something in the future.
