whats "rocks hot hands" and how well do they work??
'03 to '05 were fine, its '06 to '09 that are the culprits!...NO HEAT or BARELY, you just get a trikling bit of heat and end up freezing the tip of your fingers working itself up to your hands. My '05 RX1 had tons of HEAT compared to my '08 :o| and thats when you need the "YAMAHEATER" kit.

unless you are riding at -40c they are fine. at that temp, wear gauntlets. damn near froze my havs last winter but it was still a good ride!

I have done everything and anything to help with cooling. If I had to do it all over again, I would go with the radiator if that worked.

Two easy and cheap things that can be done to help cooling when running a long track;

1) replace cross tube with 1" COPPER PIPE.
2) On the back of the muffler bracket is the flap that exists for holding the flap onto a shorty, this flap obstructs snow from hitting the cross tube. Cut that thing up to let the snow fly through it and hit the cross tube.

LB, I have not heard from you in many moons. I hope that you are doing well. It is always great to hear from you with all of your knowledge.
