"Again the dyno is a tool to prove the numbers."
Jason, It not only prooves numbers but also assists you in determining engine characteristics throughout the entire powerband. This is essensial in trying to get out the most of what you are working with. Intake temps/boost...etc can be experimented with and the resluts are right there in front of you to analyze and experiment. Another nice thing you find out is where to clutch to based on yno results. Horsepower is horsepower and torque is torque. These fixed variables (when final calibrations are met) help you develop proper clutching. The only other way to do it is field testing. Take the 9.5 second run on its first run. The clutching was developed on the dyno, not in the field. For its first run off the trailer, id say 9.5 is very impressive. Now over the weekend they got down to 9.38 all with the same clutching, just chassis adjustments and better track conditions. Could you get lucky in the field with a clutching guess, definetely, however the dyno sure saves alot of time trying to figure of where to clutch to. Just my $.02...BBY

Your right It is a huge help in the clutching arena. I used our results from the dyno to help me with clutching.

What brand turbo are you using?
What brand turbo are you using?
4kops: I work with Lightning Pro In traverse City Michigan. We built our own kit. If you ever want to talk turbos let me know. I'll give you any information you want "for Free" !!!!
Jason
Who makes the actual turbo they or you are using? They don't make the turbo themselves.

Turbonetics supplies us with a Rayjay Turbo. They bought the rights to it. They build the turbo itself for us.
Rajay? Humm I believe those are some pretty old technology. Turbonetics
aquired Rajay when they aquired Consolidated Fuel. Those Rajay turbos are good for certain applications where space in a problem and we all know that space in a concern but not a problem they have alot of compressor and turbine housings available in both on-center and tang. mount availble but there is one thing those Rajay's are no where near the effiencey of the new Garrett GT Ball Bearing. I do believe that the Rajay was used back in the 1960's on the GM Corvair and it hasn't changed since. How do you go about verifing that your correct air flow and pressure ratio was in a high effiency % area of the compressor map without ever dynoing the enigne I don't understand how you can say you verifed all the calculations without having done this. By the way it's Rajay not Rayjay.

This Turbo Topic is really getting on my nerves....honestly I dont want one after all of this crap........and thats how it makes me feel more and more everytime I read this...Bla Bla Bla....
...if you where talking about anything other then the product you support and sell, it would really be something worth listening too....as far as I am concerned time and lake runs, one against the next will tell the story. Lets try to keep to the topic at hand or make a new thread and take it to the Lounge ![Div20 ;)! ;)!](/styles/default/xenforo/smilies/div20.gif)

4kops: All I'll say is the proof is in the pudding and talk is cheap. Check out our videos.
Side not 4kop we were offered a Garrett GT Ball Bearing. We chose the "RAJAY" because of it's symplisity.
One more thing we did verify as I stated clearly in a earlier post.
You know I could have my buddies scome over here and rip on the compition as well 4kops. Come back and talk to me when you post a regular basis not just for your buddies!!!
last thing I'll ask you. have you ever seen our kit? I doubt it so how can you comment on somthing you've never seen or understand?

We were able to prove they were 100% correct with thier calculations when we dynoed our kit
