"Again the dyno is a tool to prove the numbers."
Jason, It not only prooves numbers but also assists you in determining engine characteristics throughout the entire powerband. This is essensial in trying to get out the most of what you are working with. Intake temps/boost...etc can be experimented with and the resluts are right there in front of you to analyze and experiment. Another nice thing you find out is where to clutch to based on yno results. Horsepower is horsepower and torque is torque. These fixed variables (when final calibrations are met) help you develop proper clutching. The only other way to do it is field testing. Take the 9.5 second run on its first run. The clutching was developed on the dyno, not in the field. For its first run off the trailer, id say 9.5 is very impressive. Now over the weekend they got down to 9.38 all with the same clutching, just chassis adjustments and better track conditions. Could you get lucky in the field with a clutching guess, definetely, however the dyno sure saves alot of time trying to figure of where to clutch to. Just my $.02...BBY
