Does anyone know if the RX-1 has any wires which will kill the engine if grounded?

I am trying to hook up a rev limiter as a launch control.

I am thinking that there may one in the overheat system as this will shut of the sled when it is too hot and possible one in the oil pressure system which turns the sled off during roll over.

Please any info is a great help.

Looking at the wiring diagrams, there are no shut-offs that use a ground to kill the engine. They are grounded and then the circuit is interrupted to stop it (Continuously Closed). Grounding out to kill spark (Continuously Open) is typically a 2-stroke thing.

Thanks for the help thus far.

Any other suggestions to put a launch control on this type of sled?

Rev limiters are typically in turbo-charged applications so the engine can keep the turbo spooling fast enough to build boost before leaving the line, thus eliminating turbo lag. If this is your problem, I can't see a small engine/turbo having so much lag that this is necessary. If you are just looking to launch harder then why not just clutch it (heavier weights) to raise the engaging rpms. Depending on your racing needs, you may be able to re-gear the chaincase so that you lose some top-end but gain low end take-off also.

If that does not work then... :nos

the only way to get launch control on the rx1 is with the msd ignition that cost 1700 usd.the apex use the msd launch box which rx1 cant use.

I am looking to install the launch control in order to run a delay box for ashphalt racing. I am running a s/c and am not looking to launch any harder.

I have looked into a MSD setup, but the MSD uses the same area of the engine as the S/C drive does.

I gues I will have to go back to the drawing board?
