Is there any failsafes on the older RX-1 motors? Was told that if run low on oil eng will shut down. Also if overheats the motor will shut down.
I have a buddy with an 03 RX-1 Turbo. Lots of wiring cut & always has the eng light blinking.
Just wondering what he has going on with the sled & like to get it fixed up so he is safe if possible
Dont see any codes like my Nytro has. Do you count the blinks on the RX-1?

No auto shutdown on low oil.
Only auto shutdown if it overheats while idleing.
The are no error codes, only blinking patterns that corresponds to an error, it's all in the book.

Thanks for that info. I didnt think it had any failsafes at all but I do know it has shut down while trail riding & the snow flap was caught in the track.. it overheated & shut off on him.
Now this time out he has lost all oil on the side of a Mtn & it shut down. He was told it has a shut down when low on oil. But guess its pull the motor again!!
