A common problem with the original RX1's and RS's is the side panel fitment after a couple of years, especially if you've had your side covers off repeatedly is the little nub that is supposed to keep the side panel attached and aligned. After time they become bent or even broke, thus causing the side panel to be mis-aligned. Well, I fixed it simply.

1. remove the triangaluar rubber piece on the side panel by just pulling on it firmly.

2. Pull up on your side panel and put it where it is supposed to be originally. insert center punch into the hole that is not used to attach the rubber trim to panel. You should be able to find the round tube chassis brace this way (it will be right behind the panel). At this point just move your punch around until you find the high spot of the tube and give it a tap to give your drill a starting point to drill and so the bit won't walk.

3. choose your screw size and matching drill bit. I used a countersunk stainless sheet metal screw. Drill your hole and install the screw. You will instantly notice the results. Your side panel will pull in and your OEM fit and finish is back.

I did have to file a little bit of the plastic ridge under the triangle trim piece so it would fit properly.

4. re-install rubber triangle piece and you are finished.

If you do not do your own wrenching, then you will need to tell your mechanic about this.
